About Lydia

Lydia is transitioning from ministry at OMS’ World Headquarters in Greenwood, IN, to ministry with OMS in Mexico.

Lydia has served in OMS USA Communications as associate editor, book coordinator, and chapel coordinator for nearly four years. Through two OMS short-term trips to Mexico (2022 and 2023), she felt God’s call to residential missionary work in Mexico.

There, Lydia will be filling the vital role of short-term team coordinator for Mexico. God is doing great things in Mexico, and OMS wants as many people as possible to be part of this. She will work alongside field leadership, incoming team leaders, and national partners to ensure that everything is in place for the most successful team visits possible. Along with these responsibilities, Lydia will also work to expand OMS Mexico’s pool of translators and come alongside them to help them grow in their English competency.

Lydia is grateful for the clarity and confirmation she has received from the Lord and others as she pursues this vocational and life transition. She is excited to use the gifts and personality God has given her, as well as skills she will learn and grow in, to spread the Gospel, encourage others, and further the Great Commission in Mexico.

Lydia earned a bachelor of arts in English with a minor in journalism from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, in May 2018. Her call to homeland missionary work came unexpectedly and was followed by excitement, confirmation, and a heavy dose of reliance on God. The same can be said for her call to Mexico!

Lydia continues to feel God pursuing her and growing her desire and need for him. She values authenticity, vulnerability, and deep conversations. She is refreshed by the many God-loving and kind people she encounters at OMS. She is grateful for her generous and loving parents, wonderful older brothers and sisters-in-law, precious nephew, adorable niece, and spunky tortoiseshell cat (who, Lord willing, will move to Mexico with her).
